  1. 2004-10-08 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  2. * new API functions: jack_client_open(), jack_get_client_name()
  3. 2004-09-15 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  4. * new API functions from <jack/thread.h>
  5. 2004-07-08 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  6. * add jack_ringbuffer_peek()
  7. 2004-02-19 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  8. * new API functions:
  9. int jack_client_name_size(void);
  10. int jack_port_name_size(void);
  11. int jack_port_type_size(void);
  12. 2004-02-16 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  13. * Changed JACK_PORT_NAME_SIZE from 32 to 256
  14. This could affect some client that defines its own value.
  15. 2003-10-15 Paul Davis <paul@linuxaudiosystems.com>
  16. * new ring buffer interface: <jack/ringbuffer.h>
  17. 2003-10-07 Paul Davis <paul@linuxaudiosystems.com>
  18. * new function jack_set_freewheel().
  19. No compatibility issues: this introduces new functionality to
  20. JACK and doesn't alter any existing functionality.
  21. 2003-09-18 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  22. * new function jack_set_buffer_size().
  23. Compatibility issues: programs that rely on the buffer size but do
  24. not register a callback will fail. Cached output buffer addresses
  25. are not valid after the buffer size changes. These rules existed
  26. before, but were never enforced.
  27. 2003-08-26 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  28. * <jack/types.h> typedefs are now defined using the C99 standard
  29. fixed-size integer typedefs. These new typedefs are binary
  30. compatible with 32-bit platforms, but not 64-bit machines.
  31. Programs using printf on these values will get GCC compiler
  32. warnings. To suppress the warnings, use the corresponding C99
  33. printf specifications defined in <inttypes.h>. That header is
  34. already implicitly included by <jack/types.h>, but can also be
  35. included explicitly to maintain compatibility with older versions
  36. of JACK without messy #ifdef's. Adding explicit casts will also
  37. work, but may suppress future warnings you might want to see.
  38. * jack_get_sample_rate() now returns jack_nframes_t rather than
  39. unsigned long. These are the same on 32-bit machines, but not on
  40. 64-bit platforms.
  41. 2003-08-13 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  42. * Many new transport interfaces. It would be silly to list them
  43. all here. Please see the new transport control section in the
  44. JACK reference manual.
  45. * jack_set_transport_info() and jack_engine_takeover_timebase(),
  46. (the old timebase master interfaces) now do nothing. Instead, use
  47. jack_set_timebase_callback().
  48. 2003-05-09 Jack O'Quin <joq@io.com>
  49. * Added new jack_is_realtime() function.
  50. 2003-02-23 Paul Davis <paul>
  51. * client.c:
  52. added deliver_request().
  53. removed all use of strncpy().
  54. changed ClientDynamic to ClientInProcess.
  55. 2003-02-10 Taybin Rutkin <trutkin@physics.clarku.edu>
  56. * client.c (jack_client_new): Checks jack_protocol_version returned
  57. from jackd.
  58. 2003-02-05 Kai Vehmanen <kai.vehmanen@wakkanet.fi>
  59. * client.c (jack_set_buffer_size_callback): This function is now
  60. deprecated.
  61. 2002-12-20 Paul Davis <paul>
  62. * error.h (jack_set_error_function): added
  63. 2002-12-16 Paul Davis <paul>
  64. * jack.h: added inclusion of pthread.h
  65. 2002-12-09 Paul Davis <paul>
  66. * jack.h (jack_client_new_inprocess): prototype for in-process client creation (not implemented)
  67. * jack.h (jack_client_thread_id): added so that clients can easily
  68. find out the pthread_t that is running the JACK client code. this
  69. turns out to be critical to handling the SIGHUP.
  70. 2002-11-15 Paul Davis <paul>
  71. * client.c: added port alias functions. untested.
  72. 2002-11-05 Kai Vehmanen <kai.vehmanen@wakkanet.fi>
  73. * Created this file. Current JACK version is
  74. 0.39.0 and libjack interface 0:5:0. See
  75. jack/README.developers for details on how to
  76. use this file.
