A new field, AVCodecContext.internal is used to hold a new struct AVCodecInternal, which has private fields that are not codec-specific and are used by general libavcodec functions. Martin Storsjö	627067118c	avutil: Add av_timegm as a public function This is useful, since the normal timegm function isn't a standard function (requiring _BSD_SOURCE or _SVID_SOURCE on glibc to be visible, and not available on e.g. windows). Stefano Sabatini	a6703faa15	samplefmt: add av_get_bytes_per_sample() Deprecate av_get_bits_per_sample_fmt(), which was a misnamed function. For the moment we don't have sample formats with a non-integer number of bytes, in that case we may need to create a new av_get_bits_per_sample() function. In the meanwhile we prefer to adopt this variant, since avoids divisions by 8 all over the place.	14 years ago

The new enum and av_get_picture_type_char() are defined in libavutil. This allows the use in libavfilter without the need to link against libavcodec.
